Americans in south of France: outreach event to assist with Social Security issues

In-person appointments will be held in Marseille over two days next month

The Paris Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) is hosting an outreach event in Marseille for American Social Security beneficiaries located in southern France.

The event will take place over two days, from September 3 - 4, with the precise location yet to be announced. 

Event attendees must have booked a 15-minute appointment slot via a scheduling platform, Picktime. The FBU highlights that “only scheduled individuals’ names are provided to the guards for entry.â€

At time of writing, some appointments are still available and can be booked by scanning the QR code in the Facebook post shared by Marseille's US Consulate General (see below).

Who is the event for?

The is the French branch of international units providing services for Americans based outside of the US, primarily in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). 

³§±ð±è³Ù±ð³¾²ú±ð°ù’s Marseille outreach event aims to provide Americans living outside of Paris with help processing “a wide range of social security requests†during the event including:

  • Social security number card applications,

  • Social security retirement and auxiliary benefits applications,

  • Representative applications,

  • Post Entitlement Requests such as change of address and bank.

Attendees should bring originals and photocopies of all required evidence including current ID, birth certificate, and bank details.

“We are unable to accept incomplete application packages. Individuals with incomplete application packages will receive a refusal notice,†says the FBU’s booking site.
