A market in the coastal town of Dieppe (Seine Maritime, Normandy) has been named 2020鈥檚 "most beautiful market in France", according to a competition organised by news channel TF1 .
Dieppe is a coastal town and its market is known for its fresh fish and seafood as well as a soft cheese called 鈥�苍别耻蹿肠丑芒迟别濒鈥�.
A regular shopper at Dieppe market : 鈥淚 do think it鈥檚 the most beautiful market in France. We have local producers. We would never go to another market on a Saturday. It鈥檚 a tradition.鈥�
When asked what makes Dieppe market so special a stall-holder said: 鈥淭he people are friendly, we have a fantastic mayor and good products. It鈥檚 really an excellent market.鈥�
The official Dieppe town Instagram account reacted to the win by posting pictures of fresh produce and celebrations at the market. They wrote it was "a beautiful reward for the 200 stalls holders here each Saturday morning, and also for our local market services team, and not forgetting all our clients regular or not! Dieppe is more than ever the place to be!"

Dieppe had previously come 8th in the 2018 edition of the competition and second in last year鈥檚 vote, just losing out to Montbrison market (Loire, Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes).
