The bus has already made two “stops” in nearby Gosnay and Hénin-Beaumont, where 150 people came to swim each day and will be in the museum’s park from August 15-25.

Entry is free.

It was created by Lyon-based artist Benedetto Bufalino, whose previous projects include turning an old telephone box into a street aquarium.

The bus-pool is part of the Odyssée Euralens programme, celebrating 10 years of changes in the Lens area.

Director of the programme Julien Carrel said: “It is a new creation of the artist with one of our regional buses to reinterpret urban space..

“People love it. In fact, we have to limit the time they can use it so others can have a turn.”
