Shoppers are advised to return roquette from Auchan as well as Charal steaks, Carrefour steaks haches pur boeuf and three varieties of Jambon Superieur sold in different stores.
Rappel Conso, the French consumer protection watchdog, issued the alert on Tuesday August 22 due to the detection of harmful bacteria in these products.

Symptoms
Listeria can provoke symptoms ranging from headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions.
In vulnerable people, such as the elderly or immunocompromised individuals, symptoms can be much more severe.
Symptoms can appear up to eight weeks after consumption of a contaminated product.
E-coli can provoke a moderate fever, severe stomach cramps, diarrhoea (often bloody), and vomiting.
Symptoms usually appear within three to eight days after consumption of a contaminated product.
These products should not be consumed and should be returned to the point of purchase.
