Many Paris flights cancelled today due to airport worker strike
Up to 17% of Charles de Gaulle and Orly flights could be affected. Disruption expected to continue tomorrow with 鈥榙readful queues, delays and cancellations鈥�

People travelling from Paris-Charles de Gaulle or Paris-Orly today (June 30) may experience disruption due to strike action by airport firefighter staff.
France鈥檚 Direction g茅n茅rale de l鈥檃viation civile has asked the airports to cut their flight schedules by 17% until 14:00 today because of issues caused by an A茅roports de Paris firefighter strike.
As a result of this, 10% of flights departing from or arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle will be cancelled.
A茅roports de Paris, which manages both airports, has said: 鈥淲e invite passengers to check the status of their flight with the airline and to arrive at the airport in good time: three hours before for an international flight, two hours before for a domestic or European flight.鈥�
Air France has said that its long-haul flights are not affected, and that 鈥�90% of other flights鈥� will run as planned.

However, the situation could get worse tomorrow (July 1) and continue over the weekend, as the CGT, FO, CFDT, CFTC, Sud, Unsa and Solidaires unions call for A茅roport de Paris employees to strike again.
鈥淚t will be an absolute mess. [Passengers] should expect dreadful queues, delays and flight cancellations,鈥� a CGT representative said, adding that this action will be taken up by many workers.
A茅roports de Paris has not yet confirmed how many employees will be mobilising tomorrow, and what impact this will have.
Air France has said that anyone affected by delays or cancellations tomorrow will be informed individually by text or email.
Unions are calling for a blanket 鈥�10% pay rise.鈥� 鈥淢anagement made us sign an agreement reducing our salaries by 5% during Covid, in addition to the more than 1,150 redundancies. It is no longer tenable today, especially with the inflation which is impacting us all,鈥� FO representative Fabrice Criquet said.
A茅roports de Paris is currently offering a pay increase of 1.5%.
The airport strike comes as SNCF workers also plan a strike on July 6, just before the schools break up for summer.
Heathrow Airport in London has also cancelled around 30 flights today because it is expecting greater passenger numbers than it can cope with.
