Flixbus coaches resume on June 18 in France
Coach travel company Flixbus is set to restart trips from June 18 in France.
The first routes available will be between Paris and Le Havre, Paris and Rouen, Clermont-Ferrand and Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand and Nice.
Some coaches will be able to travel in Europe, from Paris to Amsterdam and Paris to Brussels.
In total, there will be 70 destinations available in France and Europe. This represents 10-20% of the usual trips of Flixbus but the company will increase destinations gradually and according to demand, it said.
General manager of Flixbus France, Yvan Lefranc-Morin said: 鈥淲e obviously intend to increase the offer over the next few weeks, the idea being to match demand as closely as possible.
鈥淚t is not our intention to run empty coaches [...] if demand is not there.鈥�
The company plans to sell all the seats available except the two behind the driver.
Wearing a mask will be mandatory both for the driver and passengers.
Hydroalcoholic gel will be distributed when boarding the bus. The coach will be disinfected on each trip and the toilets will be closed, resulting in a few extra stops on the motorway.
The other main company operating coach travel to France, Blablabus will resume a week later, on June 24.
The two companies, which are known for long distance and low cost travel, across France and Europe, ceased travels on March 17.
They carried more than ten million passengers last year, three million during the summer (2019).
