A dangerous bacteria has been found in Reblochon de Savoie cheese causing the French customer services watchdog Rappel Conso to issue a major product recall.
The recall concerns four Reblochon cheeses sold throughout France in Auchan, Leclerc, Carrefour, Casino, Intermarch茅, Syst猫me U and Monoprix shops.
Two of the affected products are unbranded, while the other two belong to the Pochat & fils brand.

Another recalled product, sold in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comt茅 and Grand Est regions, is a halfmoon Reblochon de Savoie PDO from the R茅gions 脿 table brand sold from July 26 to August 22, 2024 in Norma shops.
Reblochon is a soft washed-rind and smear-ripened cheese made from raw cow's milk with an AOC designation, which means that it has to be made in Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes.

鈥淔ood poisoning due to Staphylococcal Enterotoxin can result in gastrointestinal problems (mainly vomiting) in the hours following ingestion and generally disappear quickly,鈥� warned Rappel Conso.
The recall procedures will remain in place until September 8.
