Britons in France struggle to get ferry to UK

Long lines of cars were waiting to travel from Dieppe to Newhaven on Wednesday night, the media Paris-Normandie reports.
Vice-president of Normandy Ports, Jean-Christophe Lemaire said: 鈥淔erries can't take everybody on board, it's very complicated to manage.鈥�
Between Dieppe and Newhaven, ferries are travelling at 50% of their capacity, obviously meaning that half of the passengers cannot travel.
However, the ferry schedule has not been changed and people can still purchase a ticket.
This applies to all DFDS ferries and also between Dover and Calais until at least April 6.
The company said: 鈥淭imetables are unchanged and reservations are still possible for passengers wishing to return home, and passengers with imperatives.鈥�
The ferries have masks for passengers and no more than 100 people can be in the same facility on board.
Ships operating between Dieppe and Newhaven can usually carry up to 54 trucks, 320 cars depending on freight and 600 passengers.
