French gendarmes have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses as the investigation into the murder of a British woman in Dordogne reaches its seventh month without a breakthrough.
Investigators announced the public appeal on November 26.
Sources close to the case told France Bleu that it was “international†in scope.
Mrs Carter held both British and South African nationality, and officers have carried out hundreds of interviews not only in France but also in the UK and South Africa, where her estranged husband, Alan Carter, lives.
Investigators have examined many potential leads, including the possibility of a contract killing, without identifying a suspect.
Mrs Carter was attacked minutes after returning from a wine tasting evening with friends on April 29, 2025.
