Weekend speed trap catches out nearly 500 drivers in just two days

Almost one-third of drivers were caught breaking the speed limit along a single stretch of road in the Dordogne at the weekend.
Almost 500 cars were 'flashed' during police speed checks carried out on Friday and Saturday along a 50kph-limited stretch of of the D939 in Les Grèzes.
Police said 364 drivers broke the speed limit during Friday checks, while another 130 were caught out a day later.
Nearly one driver in three was in breach of this series of checks at Les Grèzes in Chancelade.
Elsewhere, a motorist in the Tarn was caught driving at 204kph on a 90kph stretch of the D999 between Albi and Millau. The car was impounded and the driver's licence temporarily revoked pending a court appearance on November 7.
