Second home in France and pool alarm
Our property has a pool alarm. Does it matter if there is no one at home to hear it when we are in the UK?

It is a legal obligation to have safety equipment meeting French or EU norms at the pool but the law does not say that you have to be present at all times!
To meet requirements it does not have to be an alarm and, if it is possible that local children could go near and fall in, an alarm may not be the best option for a property that is left empty for months at a time.
One of the other options is likely to be more practical: a barrier capable of preventing a small child reaching the pool, a firm safety cover (²ú⳦³ó±ð) which is also capable of preventing a small child being immersed if they fall on it, or a rigid pool enclosure (abri).
