Reader question: I live on the border with Spain. Can I go shopping just over the border? It's less than 30 kilometres from where I live.
Short answer: Not yet.
An operator for the coronavirus helpline told The Connexion that it is not currently permitted to cross borders to do shopping during the lockdown.
It does not matter which country it is.
EU borders are still open but people in France should only be crossing them for essential reasons, such as for health or family emergencies.
From December 15, this will change.
If France meets certain Covid-related health objectives, foreign and inter-regional travel will be permitted to resume.
For travel to France’s overseas territories, people will need to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before travelling.
