France lockdown: Can I get married in a different region?
Weddings can go ahead but with a limited attendance

Reader question: My French fiancée and I have our wedding booked in Lyon for December 12. At the moment we are locked down near Bordeaux.Whilst we accept that numbers may be reduced, is our wedding likely to be allowed to proceed if lockdown is still in place?
Short answer: Yes, as long as you respect certain rules.
Ceremonies in town halls or places of worship can go ahead but will be limited to six people in attendance.
Receptions or after-parties are not allowed.
You will be allowed to travel to a different town or region for your wedding, as long as you still comply with lockdown measures there and limit your ceremony to six people.
If you are travelling you should carry with you some proof of the wedding and also fill out exemption forms (attestations de déplacement), ticking the fourth box: Déplacements pour motif familial impérieux, pour l'assistance aux personnes vulnérables et précaires ou la garde d'enfants.
Funerals are also permitted to take place during the lockdown with a maximum attendance of 30 people.
