Two missing 16-year-old girls from Lyon found safe

Two 16-year-old lyc茅e students from near Lyon that had been 鈥渨orryingly鈥� missing for a week have been found 鈥渟afe and well鈥�.

Laure Gorand and Carla Macari had been missing since the beginning of February, with police deeming their disappearance as 鈥渨orrying鈥� since Monday February 4.

The girls were seen at school - the La Favorite lyc茅e in Sainte-Foy-l猫s-Lyon - the morning of February 4, but disappeared and stopped giving 鈥渁ny signs of life鈥� since around 15h the same day.

Police launched a witness appeal, circulating photos of the two girls, and saying: 鈥淣othing makes us think that this could be a runaway case."

Yet, the two young girls had in fact deliberately run away.

They were found on Sunday night in the Part-Dieu neighborhood of the city, police have confirmed.

Both were deemed 鈥渟afe and well鈥� and returned to their respective parents soon after they were found.
