Tupperware to shut up shop in France
Firm's only factory in France to close in March 2018, unless a buyer can be found

The only Tupperware factory in France is set to close in March 2018 unless a buyer can be found, with the loss of 235 jobs, it has been announced.
The decision will bring to an end 45 years of production at the plant in Joué-lès-Tours, Indre-et-Loire. Bosses said that the closure is due to falling profitability.
Shocked employees - many of whom have worked there for more than 25 years - described the planned closure as a 'betrayal' - though one told news website Franceinfo that some had anticipated an announcement of job losses and reduced production.
Over a number of months, several number of machines at the factory had been moved to facilities in Portugal and Africa, where labour costs are lower, the employee said.
