Some 10 departments of eastern France have been placed under an orange weather warning for storms today (June 30) by national forecaster M茅t茅o France.

The departments are: Ain, Doubs, Is猫re, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Haut-Rhin, Rh么ne, Sa么ne-et-Loire and Territoire de Belfort.

鈥淰iolent鈥� storms will develop from the beginning of this afternoon around Haute-Loire, and move up towards Alsace over time 鈥渁ffecting all of the departments on orange alert,鈥� M茅t茅o France warns.

The storms are expected to bring hail, strong winds and especially heavy rain of up to 30-40mm each hour.

The weather will calm gradually 鈥渇rom the east in the evening鈥�.
