The driver was caught by the local gendarmerie in Toulouse-Mirail (Haute-Garonne, Occitanie) after his car was recorded going at over 112 km/h in a 50 km/h residential neighbourhood, reported

He was found to have 0.62 grams of alcohol per litre in his blood, and admitted having drunk 鈥渟everal pints of beer with his friends鈥� earlier in the evening.

However, he also sought to defend his speeding by telling the gendarmerie that he was simply 鈥渢rying to get back home so he could run to the toilet鈥�.

And yet, speeding was only the first of his worries: the car was also found to be overdue for an MOT and the driver鈥檚 insurance was no longer valid.

The driver鈥檚 license was taken away on the spot and the man is likely to be suspended from the road for between three and six months. He is expected to appear in court soon.

The toilet-related infraction is the second to be reported this week, after a man in the Gard was fined 鈧�68 for taking a roadside toilet break.
