Scientists to report on Covid-19 tomorrow
The findings of France’s official scientific advisory body will not be presented to the government tonight but tomorrow, Tuesday 24, contrary to previous announcements, it has been reported.
No reason for the delay of an extra day has been given.
The scientific council, composed of 11 researchers and doctors, is due to present its findings on the evolution of the epidemic of Covid-19 and thus help the government to take decisions, notably on the length and severity of the home confinement period.
France’s Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, previously said that the situation was going to worsen in the next few days and that home confinement is key to saving lives.
Following the meeting with the scientific council, the government is expected to make an announcement on any new measures to stop the spread of the virus in France.
