A manufacturing defect that increases the risk of fire has led to a number of car models being recalled in France.
The cars, from Dacia and Renault, were listed on the official Rappel Conso (product recall) in France.
"Incorrect welding of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank can cause gas to be released into the passenger compartment, creating a fire hazard,†the website said.
Five models have been recalled.
Cars sold throughout 2023
Of the five cars, three are from the Dacia brand, listed below:
- Duster
- Logan III
- Sandero III
The vehicle reference numbers (références des véhicules) for the cars are the following:
- e19*2007/46*0026*16
- e19*2007/46*0026*17
- e19*2007/46*0026*18
- e2*2001/116*0323*72
- e2*2001/116*0323*73
- e2*2001/116*0323*74
The two Renault vehicles affected are:
- Clio V (Vehicle reference numbers) :e2*2007/46*0676*19, e2*2007/46*0676*20
- Captur II (Vehicle reference numbers) : e2*2007/46*0684*21, e2*2007/46*0684*22
All five models were sold between February 6 and June 13, 2023.
The car manufacturers have asked anyone who has bought one of the vehicles above to contact the dealership or place of purchase, for further information.
