Redheads feel the love at Brittany festival
More than 1,200 redheads attend first-ever Red Love festival

More than 1,200 people celebrated redheads in France's first Red Love festival in the Brittany town of Chateaugiron at the weekend.
Ginger, auburn, strawberry blonde - all types of redheads turned out in their hundreds for concerts and fashion shows in the Ille-et-Vilaine town, not far from Rennes. The festival featured concerts - involving red-headed performers, films and fashion parades.
It was organised by photographer Pascal Sacleux, who last year published a book of photographs of redheads he had taken while travelling through Brittany. He said that, even today, redheads are more often harassed for the colour of their hair than other people.
Brittany has a larger proportion of redheads than the rest of France. They make up 2% of the world's population and 4% of Europeans. Scotland has the greatest proportion of redheads, with 13%.
The biggest get-together of redheads in the world takes place every year in the Netherlands.
