The affected packs of brie, camembert or coulommiers cheese can be taken back for a refund. Anyone who has eaten the cheese should stay alert to symptoms

Brie, camembert and coulommiers cheese have been recalled from major French supermarkets – including Auchan, Leclerc, Super U, and Carrefour – due to a potential risk of listeria.
The cheeses have been recalled from today (April 5).

The government recall advises people to not consume the products, and to either throw them away or take them back to the point of sale.
Refunds will be available until April 19.
For consumers who have already eaten the products, and who later suffer from body aches and pains or fever, should consult a doctor, it advises. The risk is especially high for vulnerable people and pregnant women.
It said: “Listeriosis is a potentially serious disease with an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
“Severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or foetal damage in pregnant women may also occur. Pregnant women, as well as immunocompromised and elderly people, should be particularly aware of these symptoms.â€
