The singer, who is from Barbados, is well-known for her music career, but is also the founder of humanitarian organisation the Clara Lionel Foundation, and has been an ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education since 2016.

In a tweet on June 23, Rihanna asked Macron if he would 鈥渃ommit to #FundEducation?鈥�, and had previously tweeted that 鈥渢he decisions of our 20 most powerful leaders can change the future of millions at the G20 summit in Hamburg鈥�. The summit took place on 7-8 July.

Now, the singer will meet the President at the Elys茅e, in a meeting at 17h on Wednesday July 26. U2 singer Bono will also attend, in his capacity as head of his non-governmental organisation One, which works to reduce poverty and preventable diseases.

It is not the first time Rihanna has used the global social network to garner support for her causes.

In 2016, she tweeted then-President Hollande with a similar question, who replied, also on Twitter, that he would send 鈥渁 detailed response鈥� and that 鈥渆ducation was his first priority鈥�.

This year, Rihanna also tweeted similar questions to Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, and also to Argentine president Mauricio Macri.
