An old Breton lighthouse that has been completely renovated into a six-person studio and home, complete with pool and sauna, is on sale for 鈧�1.56 million.
Known as the Kerbel lighthouse, the unusual structure in Riantec (Morbihan) dates from 1913, and has its main living quarters 25 metres above ground.
It was last bought by the anonymous owner at auction, for 鈧�300,000, in 2003, and has since been completely converted.
As well as a studio with panoramic sea views in the main part of the lighthouse, the property also comes with a 鈥済uardian house鈥� on the ground, as part of the package.
It also has an old 鈥渙il room鈥� as a second bedroom, which used to offer extra lamp oil storage at a time before the lighthouse was electric.
Across all its included buildings, the property can sleep six people in total.
There is also a swimming pool in the grounds, and even a sauna in the original 鈥渉at鈥� roof of the lighthouse, making it the only property of its type in Europe with such facilities, according to estate agents s.
