In the absence of any agreement between the UK and the EU (i.e. if the UK ‘crashes out’) UK driving licences will no longer be recognised in Europe after Brexit, according to a notice by the European Com­mission Directorate General for Mobility and Transport.

I would be interested to hear British readers’ experiences on obtaining a French/EU driving licence as even after 22 years in France I am still driving on my German/EU licence, not having had points deducted during that time. I fear the French authorities can refuse to exchange my German licence.
