Published Modified

Olive trees and wild ´Ç±ôé²¹²õ³Ù°ù±ð²õ in the maquis in Corsica have been infected for the first time with the Xylella fastidiosa bacteria that has already wiped out 15% of Italian olive production.

It is spread by sap-sucking insects and controls could mean uprooting trees. Work is now being carried out to check if the bacteria is a killer strain.
