Heavy traffic in France on Saturday as holidaymakers drive home
The worst conditions are expected in the Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes region and along the Mediterranean coast
Outgoing and return traffic is expected to be heavy along the Mediterranean all weekend

Traffic conditions are expected to be 鈥渧ery difficult鈥� on Saturday, August 21, as holidaymakers drive home from key tourist areas, government traffic monitoring service has said.
The departure direction is from Paris to the regional cities, and from the cities to the coast or the ski resorts in winter.
The return direction is from the coast or ski resorts to the regional cities, and from the regional cities to Paris.
Return traffic will also be 鈥渄ifficult鈥� on Friday, August 20 and Sunday, August 22.
The heaviest traffic is expected on roads in the Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes region and along the Mediterranean coast.
For outgoing journeys on Saturday, Bison Fut茅 advised drivers to avoid the motorways A10, A71, A7, A9, A61. Outgoing journeys are expected to be 鈥渧ery difficult鈥� along the Mediterranean coast, and 鈥渄ifficult鈥� for the rest of the country.
Heavy traffic is also expected on the A9, A20, A71, A62, A61, A43 and the access to the Mont-Blanc tunnel for return journeys.
Traffic conditions are expected to be 鈥渘ormal鈥� for outgoing traffic on Friday and Sunday except along the Mediterranean coast where some difficulties are expected on Friday during the day and into the evening.
On Sunday, return journeys will be difficult again, especially along the Mediterranean and in Auvergne-Rh么ne-Alpes. Drivers are advised to avoid the A13, A10, A7, A9, A71 and A62, if possible.
