French consumer prices are still rising year-on-year, but the rate of the increase is slowing, data from the French statistics bureau Insee shows. 

Consumer prices remain high since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 led to a massive increase in the cost of energy, limits in the availability of certain raw materials and market speculation.

However, the year-on-year rate of the increase is slowing down for many consumer goods, including for fresh produce and manufactured goods.

The biggest increase year-on-year was in the price of tobacco.
