A number of protests have already taken place. Go-slows were organised on Monday, November 5, in Marne, Haute-Marne, Ardennes and the Aube.
Meanwhile, supermarket chains Leclerc, Carrefour and Casino have all announced that they will sell diesel and petrol at cost price - without their own mark-up - this month.
"In a context of drastic increase in fuel prices and to be faithful to its fight to protect the spending power of the French, E.Leclerc has decided to extend its supply of fuel at cost price until November 30, 2018", the supermarket giant said in a statement.
Carrefour, meanwhile, said its 'Fuel Days' promotion would last until November 17.
Casino group said it would sell fuel at cost-price on November 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. It has also said it will offer vouchers worth €5 to motorists who refuel at Géant Casino pumps, from Wednesday, 7 November to 18 November.
