French taxis are among most expensive in world
French taxis are among the top 10 most expensive in the world, a new study on global taxi prices has shown.

France in the world ranking, with an average price of €10 per five kilometre journey, according to the study by airport taxi booking platform .
The most expensive taxis were in Switzerland, where the average cost of a five kilometre journey was found to be €22.68. Japan followed, with an average of €15.64 for the same journey distance. Germany came in third place, with an average of €13.80 for a 5k trip.
Not far behind were the Netherlands (€13.40), Belgium (€12.90), Austria (€11.60), New Zealand (€10.53), and Great Britain (€10.08).
France came just ahead of Sweden, where the average 5k trip costs €9.91.
In contrast, the cheapest taxi rides were found in Egypt, with an average cost of €0.84 for five kilometres. India came second-cheapest, with €1.29, followed by Thailand, at €1.41.
Indonesia (€1.68), Malaysia (€1.70), Mexico (€1.80), Turkey (€2.24), China (€2.41), Argentina (€2.44) and Vietnam (€2.47) rounded out the bottom 10 least-expensive places.
