French supermarkets recall smoked chicken over listeria risk
The chicken was sold whole or in slices in several different chains. Customers having bought it should take it back to the shop for a refund

Supermarkets across France are recalling smoked chicken – sold whole and in slices – because of a risk of listeria contamination.
The supermarkets involved in the recall are Leader Price, Aldi, Franprix, Lidl and Casino.
Listeria can cause an infection called listeriosis, which primarily affects pregnant women, newborn babies, immunosuppressed patients and the elderly.
In Lidl, the chicken came in a 1.25kg pack under the Étal du volailler brand. One affected batch had the GTIN 220618000000, the batch number 5412190087 and the use-by date of November 9, 2022.
The other had the GTIN 220618000000, batch number 5412190135 and use-by date November 9.
The chicken was sold between October 19 and 22, and the shops included in the recall can be found in this
