French OAP homes cost more than pensions

Pensioners in France need to dip into their nesteggs to pay for retirement homes (Ehpads) 鈥� a study showed average costs are 36% higher than pensions.

Caisse Nationale de Soli颅darit茅 pour l鈥橝utonomie said Ehpad fees averaged 鈧�1,977 against a pension of 鈧�1,461, although some state benefits help with much of the cost.
