Free French homes sought for medical staff
Airbnb has launched a scheme to find short-term free host homes for medical staff during the Covid-19 crisis.

The programme has been created in partnership with the French government to help medical workers and to limit their time travelling to hospitals every day.
To take part, hosts must have empty self-contained accommodation.
Private rooms in homes are not allowed for sanitary reasons.
The house or flat must be close to a hospital, an EHPAD (retirement home) or an emergency centre and must be available for a minimum of 15 consecutive nights until the end of April.
Airbnb hosts who can help by offering free full accommodation should participate .
All participants will receive €50 compensation per stay from Airbnb.
This scheme is part of Airbnb Open Homes programme, which helps people in difficult situations to find temporary accommodation for free. It is also used for patients with serious conditions who want to stay near a hospital, refugees, or families who have been hit by a natural disaster.
