France’s food leaves me cold
We live in Poitiers where, besides the excessive prices of any food, bio or not, the quality is also bad, in all the supermarkets.
The vegetables in the “green shops” are twice the price of anything in a supermarket and the quality is even worse.
The beef is also of the poorest quality, in our area, even at the expensive specialist butchers.
The French frozen meals are expensive and of poor quality compared to the ones in the UK. I don’t even want to mention the quality of the fast food.
I do not have anything good to say about the French food in general, quality or price, except for the cheeses, which are not very expensive and of good quality.
Most restaurants are also bad and expensive, except for the salads, which are excellent.
I don’t know why the French cooking is considered that good.
