France's Dronne river in the Dordogne gets wild label
The upper Dronne in the Dordogne east of Nontron has been named one of France’s 20 wild rivers sites.

A total of 29km, plus 8km of the Manet stream, received the label, aimed at conservation.
It is part of just 7% of French waterways considered to be “in a very good ecological state”.
The Dronne was found to show exceptional biodiversity, very good water quality and it “flows freely” because of its natural banks and sediment.
