France travel: Heavy traffic warning in force
Red alert for travel on Saturday

Drivers in France are warned to be alert to heavy traffic over the next four days, and plan their end-of-holiday journeys accordingly.
Ahead of the final full week of the summer holidays, French roads monitor Bison Futé has warned motorists to expect especially heavy traffic on Saturday, with all points on the road network classified as 'red' - the second-highest level on its colour-coded alert system - as holidaymakers head back home.
Those heading off on holiday on Saturday should also be wary of heavy traffic. Bison Futé has classed routes to traditional holiday areas as orange, and red in the south east and along the Mediterranean coast.
Friday, Sunday and Monday, meanwhile, have an orange traffic warning, with the traffic monitor warning that "the main part of the road flows concerns [routes back from] coastal regions towards the big metropolises".
