France lockdown: Can the hairdresser come to my home?
Salons are closed for the next few weeks, and hairdressers cannot make home visits either. We explain.

Reader question: Can a hairdresser come to our home during confinement?
No, home visits from hairdressers and other beauticians are not allowed during confinement.
Earlier this week a government spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior announced that home visits would be able to continue, but this decision has since been reversed.
Minister for the Economy Bruno Le Maire confirmed the rule against home visits an interview with news source this morning (November 2).
He said: “It is incomprehensible that a hairdressing salon which has made so much effort to adapt to health regulations, which has put hand gel at the entry and asked hairdressers to wear masks, would at the same time also offer hairdressing appointments in homes.â€

He added: “It is unreasonable to let a hairdresser come into your home.â€
Alain Griset, minister for small and medium-sized businesses confirmed this position in an interview with news source . He said: “Homes are even more dangerous than salons. In salons, there are health protocols in place. A hairdresser who goes into a home is entering into a place that is not secure.â€
Other home visits from beauty professionals are also banned during confinement.
