The French state rail operator SNCF has launched a flash sale of 200,000 tickets on its high-speed TGV InOui services.

Tickets start from €29 one-way – up to 50% cheaper than regular tickets in some cases – and are available for certain InOui services. Upgrades to first-class begin from €1 extra.

These are trains on France’s traditional high-speed train network, with free WiFi and a bar carriage on board.

Destinations (from Paris) include Lille, Tours, Le Mans and Reims – with tickets to other cities including Niort and La Rochelle starting from €39 one-way – as the SNCF looks to offer travellers an experience at one of France’s lesser-known destinations.

The sale began today and lasts until Wednesday (November 6), for services running between November 12 and December 18.

Tickets can be purchased via the SNCFConnect .

The flash sale is a way for the SNCF to keep demand high and keep trains in rotation before a busy Christmas holiday period. Tickets for holiday travel went on sale last month.
