Denied a postal vote
Our UK postal vote for the EU election arrived on May 16.
We contacted our local authority as to why it was so late. They replied: “Unfortunately, the timescale for the EU elections is very compressed with the deadline of April 25 [for candidate lists to be submitted] and right in the middle of local government elections [May 2].
“The government did no advance planning. Uploading the ballot papers then printing took more days. We suggest you return it immediately.â€
Not very encouraging!
