Brexit biker arrives in Downing Street
Biking Brexit campaigner Paul Hearn has just arrived in Downing Street to hand in a petition to UK Prime Minister Theresa May after riding hundreds of kilometres up through France.
Mr Hearn, 57, from Juignac in the Charente, was met on arrival by some of his supporters, who include members of campaign groups (RIFT) and .
One of the administrators of Brexpats' Facebook group, Jan Glover, said: 鈥淲e have been drumming up loads of support for him - so as to have crowds of people on 鈥楤oris bikes鈥� with flags etc to accompany him to the door of Number 10.鈥�
Mr Hearn thinks the UK public were not given good quality information before the referendum and is calling for a free (unwhipped) MPs' vote on whether to cancel Brexit or not.
He has obtained official permission to hand his in at the door of Number 10.
Mr Hearn, who said he had never been politically active before, left Juignac on Friday September 29 and took a ferry from Ouistreham to Portsmouth on Tuesday night.
He stayed with well-wishers on his way up through France and said: 鈥淭he people who have supported me along the way have made every kilometre and aching muscle worthwhile.鈥�
