BBC, let us pay to view
We have a satellite dish for Freesat live TV but tend to watch BBC iPlayer via a VPN more often. We are aware that the VPN could be blocked at any time and to be honest, I’m surprised it hasn’t been already, given that other UK websites, for example betting sites, are not accessible from France even with the VPN. And Eurosport has recently blocked VPN access to its UK player.
We would happily pay a monthly or annual subscription fee to the BBC to have ‘legal’ access and I’m certain many others around the world would do the same. I’m sure there are good reasons for the BBC not offering this, but it seems to me it would be a significant source of new revenue if it were ever introduced.
