A reality TV show participant has revealed he was paid 鈧�27,000 for three days鈥� appearing on the TF1 island adventure programme Koh-Lanta.

Under French law game show participants must have work contracts and cannot simply be viewed as volunteers.

鈥楧ylan,鈥� 23, from Luxembourg, was paid for being in one of the teams which had to 鈥榮urvive鈥� in an isolated location and complete challenges last year.

He said the basic contract of 鈧�7-10,000 (irrespective of how long the contestant lasts in the show) was 鈥榥ot a fat lot鈥� 鈥� so he negotiated a higher rate. He was voted off after three days.

As we went to press the latest season of the show was on hold after a contestant accused another of sexual assault.
