Concerning your article on the rules for cyclists in France:



1. I’ve never seen these rules enforced.
2. If one is riding a bike designed for racing, there is absolutely no room for reflectors on clipless pedals and bikes aren’t sold with them installed either.
3. As for the other reflector requirements, I’ve yet to see reflectors installed on the rear, front or sides of a bike. They would be useless in daytime anyway.
4. I avoid high speed well-travelled roads and never ride at night.

These are the common and rare cycling signs all road users should know in France

I’ll continue to ride with a helmet (there’s something that should be mandatory) and a very bright flashing light/radar/camera facing rearwards under the saddle. 

So in the event I do get hit there will be a record of the vehicle that hit me. My bike computer also allows my wife to track my whereabouts on her mobile phone.
