A thought-provoking drone show concluded yesterday’s 10th anniversary commemorations for victims of the Paris terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015.

The evening ceremony near the capital’s Hôtel de Ville followed a day of tributes, which took place throughout the city and at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis

The event was dedicated to victims, the survivors and their families. It featured musical performances, dance routines, and a series of drones that created a glowing peace sign around the Eiffel Tower.

President Emmanuel Macron and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also inaugurated the Garden of Remembrance for the victims at place Saint-Gervais in the 4th arrondissement.

“Not a single life will be forgotten, not a single tear will be lost,” said Mr Macron.

The ceremony ended with a minute of silence followed by a choral performance of the song ‘Shooting Stars’ by the American rock band Rival Sons.

Rock music featured prominently in the commemoration, overseen by Thierry Reboul, artistic director for the 2024 Paris Olympics, in order to honour those who were killed at the Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Bataclan on November 13.

The show was closed to the public but screens broadcasting the event were installed at the place de la République, and could also be watched live via France Télévisions and TF1.

The entire ceremony can be rewatched below. The drones appear at roughly 1:44.

The Eiffel Tower was also illuminated in red, white and blue to mark the 10th anniversary commemoration.
